Glass Run Channel and Belt Lines
TECHNOLOGIES
The semi-dynamic sealing system concerns sliding and moving windows and comprises different types of weatherstrips:
- Glass-run channel (profiles with over-molded corners)
- Belt-lines (inner/outer)
For more than a decade, TEFABLOC™ is assuming the sealing of many best seller car models.
TEFABLOC™ TPE includes a comprehensive range of products specifically adapted to each functionalities of automotive seals and weatherstrips, with two technologies:
- TPE-S (SEBS styrenic block copolymers)
- TPE-SV (styrenic block copolymers cross-linked by means of a patented process)
- TPO (Olefin thermoplastic elastomer)
- PP compound
SUNPRENE™ high performance flexible PVC may also be used for belt-lines with special aesthetic requests.
FEATURES
LIGHTWEIGHT WITH HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY
In addition to a low density, TEFABLOC™ is compatible with PP. With this technical advantage, the steel may be replaced by talc filled PP for stiffeners, contributing to a decrease of up to 30% in weight. Additionally, the fine tuned rheology provides a fast output with high productivity and low scrap in production.
DESIGN
Thanks to smooth surface and consistent visual aspect between extruded profiles and molded corners, seals are part of the design.
The TPE-S and TPE-SV technologies offer varying degrees of matteness/gloss, for either extrusion and injection grades.
The high flow of injection grades offer unparalleled grainage reproduction.
DURABILITY
TEFABLOC™ excellent weathering resistance preserves the overall appearance of the vehicle while also preventing the blueing/yellowing/blooming effect often observed with EPDM seals.
SUSTAINABILITY
TEFABLOC™ TPE seals are fully recyclable, even when they are incorporated into PP stiffeners.
CORNER MOLDING OF EPDM PROFILES
Because of no need for material curing, the corner molding of EPDM glass run channels with special TEFABLOC™ greatly facilitated.
